To commemorate 50 years of BMW racing at Mount Panorama, MODE DESIGN™ presents a truly special tribute vehicle — the MODE DESIGN™ Bathurst Edition BMW M2 G87 | ONE of 1.
Built as a single, collector-grade example, the project celebrates BMW’s enduring connection with the legendary mountain circuit that hosts the Bathurst 1000 at the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales.
A Modern Tribute to BMW Motorsport Heritage
At the heart of the build is the latest generation BMW M2 (G87), powered by the formidable S58 twin-turbo inline-six engine — the same engine family found in the current generation BMW M3 (G80) and BMW M4 (G82).
The compact M2 platform provides the perfect foundation for a commemorative performance car — compact, aggressive, and deeply rooted in the motorsport DNA of BMW.
For the Bathurst Edition project, MODE DESIGN™ has curated a carefully selected suite of performance, aesthetic, and chassis enhancements designed to elevate the driving experience while remaining faithful to the engineering integrity of the M platform.

What makes the MODE DESIGN™ Bathurst Edition truly special are the bespoke commemorative elements that mark the vehicle as a ONE of 1 tribute.
Inside the engine bay, a custom engraved stainless steel plaque celebrates:

This plaque pays homage to the decades of competition, innovation, and engineering excellence that BMW has brought to Mount Panorama.
Within the interior, a matching MODE DESIGN™ Bathurst Edition plaque identifies the car as:

Together, these elements permanently mark the car as a singular commemorative build created to celebrate a milestone in Australian motorsport history.

Few circuits in the world command the respect of Mount Panorama. Its steep climbs, technical corners, and high-speed straights have made it one of the most challenging and revered racing venues globally.
The MODE DESIGN™ Bathurst Edition BMW M2 G87 reflects that spirit through a carefully engineered balance of performance enhancements, design details, and motorsport-inspired components that honour the mountain’s legacy.
A meticulous selection of enhancements was curated to accentuate the inherent brilliance of this vehicle.
