MODE Design BMW M2 Competition F87 Takes on Noosa Hill Climb – Second in Class!

The MODE Auto Concepts team headed to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for one of Australia’s most iconic motorsport events—the Noosa Hill Climb Summer Edition, held November 14–16. This year, the spotlight was firmly on our latest creation: the MODE Design BMW M2 Competition F87 Time Attack Race Car.

Known for its tight corners, steep gradients, and unforgiving layout, Noosa Hill Climb is widely regarded as Australia’s toughest hill climb challenge. It was the perfect proving ground for our freshly developed M2 Time Attack build.

Despite fierce competition and demanding conditions, the MODE Design M2 delivered an incredible performance—securing 2nd place in class. The result highlights both the capability of the platform and the precision engineering behind every MODE Design build.

This project is proudly sponsored by Bilstein Australia and H&R Springs, whose world-class suspension components played a key role in the car’s setup and performance on the mountain.

The M2 was equipped with our MODE DESIGN FR-1 Forged 18x10.5 wheels, wrapped in 295/30/18 square Nankang CR-S tyres, providing exceptional grip, stability, and confidence through the technical hill climb course.

Under the hood, the vehicle runs the full MODE Design Stage 2 Package, consisting of a Downpipe, Mid Pipe, AIR+ Front Mounted Intake, and the MODE x bootmod3 Ultimate Tuning Bundle—a combination engineered to deliver sharper throttle response, increased power, and consistent performance in demanding motorsport conditions.

From aero refinement to suspension tuning and power delivery, every element of the M2 was pushed to its limits. The team gathered invaluable data for further development as the car continues its evolution into a full-spec Time Attack contender.
